Personal injury
If you have been hurt in an accident, there is a lot to keep track of. Whether it is getting the medical care you
need, making sure your insurance coverage is working properly, or just
deciding whether it is worth pursuing a claim, don’t go it alone. You know the insurance company isn’t.
Worker's compensation
Workers’ Comp is complicated. We help
you understand your rights and responsibilities for your claim to maximize
your benefits, whether you need medical care, weekly wage replacement checks,
job retraining, or all of these. A worker’s compensation claim can be a long,
tedious process. We walk you through it as efficiently and successfully as
possible.
Defense Base Act/Longshore
If you are injured on the job as a civilian contractor on a
U.S. Military base abroad (or under a few other unusual circumstances), you
may be covered by the Defense Base Act, an extension of the Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act. You may be directly covered by the Longshore act if you are a maritime worker. Like state workers’ compensation claims,
these federal compensation claims can get complicated in a hurry. And sometimes you are covered under both
state and federal benefit programs. If
that’s the case, it is doubly important to coordinate those benefits so that
one does not cancel out the other. If you find yourself suddenly thrown into
the world of the OWCP, you may want advice about your options. That’s what we are here for.
Note: Because DBA and Longshore
claims are federal in nature, Grauel law offices
does selectively represent injured workers outside the New England states on
these claims. If you think you may have
a DBA or Longshore claim, or just are unsure
whether you do, feel free to call no matter where you were hurt or where you
live.
